Bayside Gymnastics Club
A not-for-profit organisation since the mid-70s, Bayside Gymnastics Club is one of only two gymnastics clubs operating in the City of Frankston.

Bayside has operated from various locations, sharing space with schools and other local sporting or community groups. This sharing of space means that Bayside has had to set up & pack down every piece of gymnastics equipment, each day of operation. However, there are vast differences between setting up and packing down a basketball training session or a community meeting session and setting up and packing down a fully equipped gymnastics session; so for many, many years, Bayside Committee of Management has continued to seek improved facility outcomes for its athletes, their families and staff. Despite our efforts, Bayside Gymnastics Club has remained operating under the same manual set-up conditions as it did when it opened over 45 years ago.

In 2015, Bayside Gymnastics Club met with Frankston City Council once again, to request assistance with a dedicated facility. This time, rather that voicing its need, the Club provided video footage of coaches, gymnasts, and volunteer parents setting up the Club and packing it down - tasks that are performed every day of Club operation.
After viewing the footage, Frankston City Council finally understood the club's need.

​In August 2020, to remove the safety issues associated with daily set-up and pack down and to support the Club's ongoing viability during the Covid pandemic, the Club was offered and gratefully accepted, a short-medium lease of Monterey Secondary College's surplus hall.
This move has bought Bayside Gymnastics Club and its members, some time whilst continuing to fight for a dedicated & permanent facility.
